About the Author
Katie Carter Elia has visited Avalon with her parents every summer since she was two years old. It is a family tradition they treasure and one Katie is now thrilled to experience with her own husband and daughter. Katie wanted to honor the island she, and so many others love, through a children’s book—ABC is for Catalina Island does just that!
Katie is from Southern California. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in English and now lives with her family in Arizona. This is her first book.
About the Illustrator
Alvina Kwong is an award-winning illustrator whose work can be found in dozens of books and publications. Alvina was born in Hawaii and raised in Southern California. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Fine Arts - Illustration and currently lives in Utah with her husband and two daughters.
Fun fact – Alvina and her husband got engaged in Avalon at the Catalina Chimes Tower!
